Job Title : Optometrist - Fairbanks, AK - Relocation Assistance Offered Job Description :Qualifications :Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited school of optometryLicensure as an Optometrist in the state of Alaska.Responsibilities :Perform vision tests, analyze results and develop a treatment planExamine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness.Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medicationsPrescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision.Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery-for example, examining a patient's eyes the day after surgeryEvaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed
