Senior Cloud Engineer (Remote)

The Cloud Operations and Data Quality Engineer is responsible for the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of cloud infrastructure supporting Quest Diagnostics' Health Analytics Solutions (HAS) data platforms and analytics applications. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based systems while implementing best practices for infrastructure as code, automation, and operational excellence. The Cloud Operations Engineer works closely with data engineering, analytics, and development teams to support production workloads, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions that meet business and compliance requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of cloud infrastructure for HAS.In addition to the cloud oversight responsibilities, the role is responsible for establishing and operationalizing a data management and data quality framework for the HAS data product. The role will collaborate with the Data Platform Product Manager to define data governance standards, implement automated quality controls, and ensure data assets are accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose.Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure ManagementDeploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP platformsManage compute resources, storage systems, networking, and security configurationsImplement and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templatesOptimize cloud resource utilization and manage cost efficiency initiativesMaintain documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and proceduresMonitoring and Incident ResponseImplement and maintain monitoring solutions for infrastructure, practicesQualifications Required Work Experience3+ years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or systems administration3+ years of experience in data management, data quality, data governance, or data engineering within a production analytics environmentHands‐on experience designing and implementing data quality controls across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layersExperience defining and operationalizing data governance standards, including data ownership, business definitions, and critical data elements2+ years of hands‐on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience deploying and managing production infrastructure in cloud environmentsProven track record of managing highly available, scalable systemsExperience with infrastructure as code
