Group Fitness Instructor
Location: Active Wellness Center at NorthBay - Vacaville, CAPay Transparency: $16.90 - $40.00 per hour (DOE; base rate plus premium rate for group fitness classes); Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.Role And ResponsibilitiesGroup Fitness Instructors are expected to teach safe and effective classes for our members and are required to maintain educational standards commensurate with Active Wellness quality.Specific ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsAbility to teach various forms of group fitness classes for general, and active aging populations, such as Yoga, Pilates Mat, cardio and strength-based classes, Barre, core classes, ZumbaAssist members in using safe and effective exercise form during their WorkoutsSupport, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goalsAttend department meetings and continuing education classes to keep certifications currentMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness environment, picking up towels, water bottles, etc.Ability to conduct classes and activities.Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting and lifting.Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others.Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistanceWork as a TEAM with all other departmentsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorOther FunctionsBe knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered throughout the center. Promote center services and activitiesAssist with cleanliness and upkeep of group fitness equipmentAssist with keeping the center well stocked and cleanAttend Active Wellness site meetings and trainingsHandle injury and illness and security incident reportingQualificationsQualifications and Education Requirements2 years Group Exercise experience preferred. Cycle, Yoga and Pilates Mat experience are highly preferred.
