Job description:PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific and clinical expert within the ophthalmology therapeutic area, responsible for engaging external experts through fair-balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange. This role ensures compliance with PhRMA Code, internal policies, and all applicable regulations while supporting the generation and communication of scientific insights that inform Medical Affairs strategy. The MSL contributes to pre-launch readiness and pipeline support by building disease state expertise, facilitating clinical trial awareness, and preparing for future product introductions. Through congress participation, insight collection, and collaborative teamwork, the MSL advances scientific understanding and strengthens relationships that ultimately support patient care and evidence-based decision-making.MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ROLE:MSL Scientific Exchange•    Responsible for conducting fair-balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange with ophthalmologists, optometrists and health care professionals.•    Responsible for identifying, profiling, and engaging appropriate external experts based on clinical expertise and scientific relevance.•    Responsible for delivering and discussing approved scientific materials, clinical data, and disease state information in accordance with PhRMA Code and internal policies.•    Responsible for appropriately handling unsolicited off-label questions through approved medical information processes.•    Responsible for accurately and timely entries of interactions and data into compliantly managed CRM systems. Scientific Insight Collection•    Responsible for systematically collecting, synthesizing, and reporting ophthalmic clinical and scientific insights from external experts.•    Responsible for ensuring insights are documented accurately and shared through approved systems to inform Medical Affairs strategy.Congress Support•    Responsible for attending and supporting pre-, during-, and post-congress activities, including scientific exchange, booth coverage, and congress debriefs.•    Responsible for summarizing emerging data and competitive intelligence for internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.Pre-Launch Activities and Pipeline Support•    Responsible for developing disease state expertise and readiness for upcoming product launches.•    Responsible for engaging external experts on pipeline data and evolving treatment paradigms in a compliant, non-promotional manner.•    Responsible for supporting evidence generation activities and clinical trial awareness.Teamwork and Leadership•    Responsible for exemplifying a culture of scientific integrity, compliance, and collaboration across the field medical team and organization.•    Responsible for mentoring peers, sharing best practices, and contributing to training materials.All activities must be conducted in accordance with PhRMA Code, internal SOPs, and applicable laws and regulations. Scientific exchange must remain non-promotional and fair-balanced at all times.QUALIFICATIONS: •    Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, OD, or equivalent) required. •    Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Medical Affairs or related clinical/scientific role; ophthalmology experience preferred. •    Strong understanding of clinical research, disease state management, and evidence-based medicine. •    Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex science into clear, balanced discussions. •    Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. •    Self-motivated, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. •    High level of integrity and commitment to compliance with PhRMA Code and company policies. •    Ability to travel up to 60%, including internationally (including evenings and weekends for congresses and meetings).•    Clean and valid driver’s license SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong written and oral communication Self-Motivation Leadership Teamwork and Collaboration Problem Solving Decisiveness Time-Management DOMPE VALUES: Integrity         Speed Knowledge Passion Attention to Detail Reliability Flexibility  Teamwork  BENEFITS OF JOINING OUR TEAM  Comprehensive medical benefits: we value access to healthcare for our patients as well as our employees Generous vacation / holiday time off: we care about our employees and encourage a balanced lifestyle Competitive 401(K) matching Very generous monthly car allowance Territory: Ohio and MichiganLocation: The ideal candidate would reside in Ohio or Michigan.Base Salary: $169,000 - $215,000 a yearAt Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position.
