Accouting Manager (Milwaukee)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting and financial reporting activities within a dynamic financial services environment. This role will lead month-end close, financial statement preparation, regulatory and audit support, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, prior public accounting experience, and an active CPA designation. For immediate and confidential consideration, email resume to samantha.herrington@connectsearchllc.com.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAPSupport external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirementsResearch and interpret technical accounting guidance and assist with implementation of new accounting standardsReview journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completenessPartner with leadership on financial analysis, reporting, and operational initiativesAssist in strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and process efficienciesMentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environmentSupport cross-functional projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredActive CPA designation ideal5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience within financial services, banking, insurance, investment management, or related industry preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skillsPreferred BackgroundPublic accounting experience with exposure to financial services clientsExperience supporting audits and regulatory reporting environmentsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
