Job Title: Java Developer IV (WI Locals Only)
Location: Wisconsin (Remote within WI | Occasional Onsite Required)
Job Type: Contract (W2 Only) and (C2c)
Pay Rate: Up to $70/hour (No Benefits)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer IV for a long-term contract with the State of Wisconsin – Department of Transportation. This is a senior-level role requiring hands-on development, technical leadership, and experience working on enterprise-level applications.
Important: Only candidates currently residing in Wisconsin will be considered. No relocation allowed.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications
Work on modernization and enhancement of existing systems
Lead technical design and provide guidance to development teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for analysis and implementation
Ensure code quality, performance, and security best practices
Required Skills:
10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE
5+ years of experience with Spring Boot
4+ years of experience in Microservices architecture
Preferred Skills:
Experience with DevSecOps best practices and tools like SonarQube
Experience with MQ queues and application integration
Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar AI-based development tools
Strong knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) tools such as Okta
Interview Process:
Virtual interview via Microsoft Teams (Camera ON required)
Work Arrangement:
Mostly remote within Wisconsin
Must be available for occasional onsite meetings (at own expense)

Strong communication and leadership skills required

Pay: $63.00 - $68.00 per hour
