Cybersecurity Engineering ManagerOn-site 5 days/weekFull-timeThe Cybersecurity Engineering Manager will be a key leader within the IT Security & Compliance organization, responsible for overseeing the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the company’s cybersecurity engineering capabilities. This role leads teams responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining security technologies across infrastructure, applications, cloud, endpoint, and data environments.This individual will partner closely with security architecture, IT infrastructure, application development, and risk and compliance teams to ensure security controls are implemented consistently, operate effectively, and align with approved security designs and business priorities. The role also collaborates across the organization to drive operational excellence, improve security tooling effectiveness, and ensure engineering capabilities scale with organizational growth and an evolving threat landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the cybersecurity engineering function, including deployment, operation, and lifecycle management of security technologies across infrastructure, applications, cloud, endpoint, and data environments.Provide direction and governance for security engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with approved security architectures, risk priorities, and business objectives.Own and maintain security engineering processes, operational standards, runbooks, and procedures to ensure reliability, scalability, and consistency.Oversee the execution and operational effectiveness of security controls, including monitoring, tuning, and continuous improvement of security tooling.Manage security platforms and technologies such as SIEM, XDR/EDR, NDR, WAF, and cloud security tools, ensuring stability, coverage, and integration.Identify improvement opportunities and drive enhancements to the maturity, efficiency, and effectiveness of security engineering and operations.Champion automation and operational efficiency initiatives related to security monitoring, alerting, response, and platform management.Serve as an escalation point for significant security incidents, control failures, and operational issues, coordinating resolution across security, IT, and business teams.Ensure engineering support for incident response activities including containment, remediation, and post-incident improvements.Ensure adherence to change management policies and operational standards when implementing or modifying security technologies.Provide oversight of security engineering activities during major system changes or infrastructure initiatives.Track and report security engineering metrics, platform health, and operational effectiveness to leadership.Mentor and develop security engineers, fostering technical growth, accountability, and alignment with security objectives.Collaborate closely with cyber architecture and cyber risk teams to ensure execution aligns with architectural intent and risk management goals.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or technical school degree preferred.Relevant cybersecurity or technical certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, vendor-specific certifications).Enterprise security engineering and security operations practicesSecurity tooling and platforms (SIEM, XDR/EDR, NDR, WAF, cloud security tools)Security monitoring, detection, and response capabilitiesInfrastructure, application, endpoint, and cloud security controlsExtensive background in IT infrastructure and applications with demonstrated ability to operationalize security technologies.Experience supporting medium to large-scale enterprise environments with complex integrations and high availability requirements.8+ years of professional experience in security engineering or security operations, including:Deployment and lifecycle management of security technologiesSecurity incident response and remediation efforts3+ years of leadership experience, including people management, workload prioritization, and performance development.Experience managing and integrating multiple security platforms within a cohesive security ecosystem preferred.Experience translating security architecture designs into operational security controls preferred.Strong understanding of change management and operational governance in production environments.Proven ability to develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standards.Self-motivated with the ability to lead teams toward measurable outcomes with limited supervision.Strong project, operational, organizational, and time-management skills.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills across IT, security, and business teams.Team-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving overall security and operational objectives.
