A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.Opportunity:/nRN - Med Surg Tele/n/nJob Details:/n• Work in medical surgical telemetry unit with 6:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends/n• 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients/n• 12-hour orientation provided/n• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday schedule/n• May be pulled to all other inpatient units (agency staff pulled first)/n• No guarantee of specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling/n• Must accept assignment to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to remain at facility until event passes/n• Minimum 2 years experience in specialty required/n• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)/n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias/n• Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope/n• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care, manage pacemaker/AICD patients, post-op CABG and thoracotomy care/n• Handle vascular surgeries including CEAs, fem-pops, and AAA repairs/n• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin/n• Perform bedside sheath pulling procedures/n• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs/n• Manage central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, and port access/n• Louisiana or compact nursing license required in hand upon submission/n• NURSYS report required (must be within 4 weeks of submission)/n/nFacility:/nThis medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility offering advanced cardiac and medical surgical services. The organization provides specialized care including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, and complex surgical interventions. The facility maintains a 24-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with full interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
