Valid California Registered Nurse License without restrictionAmerican Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPRCertified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.Minimum of three (3) years of recent RN experience.Experience in care coordination, individual and/or group education, and disease management across the Diabetes continuumExperience with insulin products, dosing, and titrationExperience with Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and Insulin Delivery DevicesExperience assessing and managing diabetic patient needs in acute situations such as hypo/hyperglycemia and pump failure.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately. Knowledge of current trends in nursing. Commitment to excellence in patient care. Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrates accountability and professionalism. Adapts to change in a positive, professional and productive manner.Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, taking into consideration protective interventions, development (behavioral and physical) and physiological characteristics specific to the patients.Mastery of Relational CompetenciesKnowledge of Cardiometabolic ConditionsAbility to provide nursing care and coordination for various Endocrinology disordersAbility to support other Medical Specialties within the department as neededUnderstanding of treatment modalities for endocrine conditions, including insulin therapy (types, administration techniques, pumps), oral medications, growth hormone therapy, hormone replacement therapy, other relevant treatments, and gender-affirming interventions.Knowledge of endocrine conditions such as Diabetes myelitis, Thyroid disease, Adrenal gland disease, hypogonadism, Osteoporosis, and PCOS.
