Registered Nurse – OtolaryngologyAIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse – Otolaryngology to provide specialized outpatient nursing care within the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Clinic at Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The RN will support physicians and healthcare teams in evaluating, treating, and educating patients with ear, nose, throat, sinus, head, and neck conditions. Duties include patient assessment, procedure support, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.General duties include providing services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), performing duties in accordance with the PWS, DHA standards, and MTF policies, maintaining compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, and patient safety regulations, and participating in quality improvement, readiness activities, and staff training.Specific duties include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for adult and geriatric ENT patients, obtaining patient histories, medication lists, vital signs, and symptom assessments, performing telephone and in-person patient triage, assisting providers during ENT examinations, procedures, and treatments, preparing patients and examination rooms for specialty procedures, administering medications, IV therapy, oxygen, and prescribed treatments, monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures and responding to emergencies as needed, educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care, coordinating referrals, specialty appointments, and continuity of care, maintaining accurate electronic medical record documentation, operating and maintaining specialty clinic equipment and ensuring exam rooms are properly stocked, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), graduate from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program, current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, minimum two years of outpatient, ER, ICU, urgent care, or specialty nursing experience preferred, ENT or specialty outpatient clinic experience highly desirable, current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory, strong outpatient and specialty clinic nursing skills, ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, excellent patient education and communication abilities, ability to assist with specialty procedures and clinical workflows, strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent electronic medical record documentation skills, ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, knowledge of urology clinic operations and patient care procedures, familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is highly preferred.Schedule includes Monday through Friday, standard clinic hours: 0730 – 1630, maximum 40 hours per week, no on-call requirement.Physical requirements include ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, ability to assist patients during procedures and examinations, ability to lift and move clinical equipment and supplies, manual dexterity required for nursing and procedural support duties.Work environment is in a military outpatient Urology clinic environment within Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work environment includes direct patient care, specialty procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.Immunization requirement includes compliance with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and annual influenza vaccination.Security requirement includes successfully completing background investigations, credentialing, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.
