Electrical Assembler
Job Description
Lectro Engineering is seeking an experienced *Electrical Assembler* to build and wire custom industrial equipment.
This position requires someone who can read electrical schematics, wire control panels and machines, troubleshoot electrical issues, and safely work with *single-phase and three-phase electrical systems*.
The ideal candidate has hands-on industrial electrical experience and can take an electrical schematic or wiring diagram and complete machine wiring with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
* Read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
* Wire custom industrial machinery and control panels
* Install and wire motors, including *three-phase motors*
* Wire motor starters, contactors, overloads, relays, transformers, disconnects, and circuit protection
* Install and wire sensors, switches, solenoids, pushbuttons, indicator lights, and other machine components
* Route, terminate, label, and organize machine wiring
* Build and wire electrical control panels
* Install conduit, wireway, cable tray, and flexible conduit as required
* Make proper wire terminations using terminals, ferrules, connectors, and crimping tools
* Use multimeters and other electrical test equipment
* Verify voltage and electrical connections before equipment startup
* Troubleshoot wiring and electrical problems during assembly and machine testing
* Troubleshoot *120 VAC, 208/240 VAC, 480 VAC, and 24 VDC control circuits* when applicable
* Check three-phase motor rotation and correct phasing when necessary
* Assist with equipment testing and machine runoff
* Work with engineering and mechanical assembly personnel to resolve problems
* Maintain safe and organized electrical work practices
Required Qualifications
* Previous industrial electrical, machine wiring, electrical assembly, or control-panel experience
* Experience working with *three-phase electrical systems*
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
* Experience wiring industrial motors and machine components
* Understanding of basic industrial control circuits
* Ability to safely use a multimeter
* Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
* Strong attention to detail
* Good mechanical aptitude
* Ability to work independently from drawings and schematics
* Ability to accurately identify, label, route, and terminate wiring
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
* 480 VAC three-phase systems
* Three-phase motors
* Motor starters and overloads
* Variable-frequency drives (VFDs)
* Control transformers
* Relays and contactors
* 24 VDC controls
* Proximity and photoelectric sensors
* Solenoid valves
* PLC-controlled machinery
* Control-panel building
* Machine troubleshooting
* Industrial equipment installation/startup
* NFPA 70 / NEC industrial wiring practices
* Electrical enclosure and panel layout
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who can be given an electrical schematic and a machine and *work through the wiring without needing every connection explained to them*.
The right candidate should understand the difference between control voltage and machine power, be comfortable working around three-phase industrial equipment, and be able to identify and troubleshoot problems when a machine does not operate as expected.
Attention to detail is extremely important. Wiring should be accurate, properly labeled, neatly routed, and completed according to the electrical drawings.
Experience
*Industrial electrical/machine wiring:* 2+ years preferred
Candidates with experience as an *electrical assembler, industrial electrician, control-panel builder, machine builder, maintenance electrician, or electrical technician* are encouraged to apply.
