Intake Attorney
The Hemmat Law Group is seeking an Intake Attorney to join our growing family law firm. This is a newly created role designed for an attorney who wants to stay close to client conversations and legal judgment while stepping away from the daily demands of litigation and case management. This position may be performed in a hybrid or fully remote capacity, depending on location and experience.About UsOur firm was founded in 1994 by Steven Amir Hemmat, a former DOJ trial attorney. Our family law practice focuses on some of the Pacific Northwest’s most complex and high conflict divorce, custody, and high asset matters. We are known for providing clear, steady guidance during deeply personal transitions. Our work is grounded in strong advocacy, thoughtful strategy, and practical, compassionate counsel. How clients experience the firm from their very first interaction matters to us, and this role sits at the center of that experience. What It’s Like to Work HereThis is not a traditional family law attorney role and that is intentional. The Intake Attorney is a leader at the front door of the firm. You will be the first attorney prospective clients speak with and the person responsible for setting expectations, evaluating fit, and building trust from the very beginning. You will not carry a caseload and you will not be responsible for litigation, court appearances, or ongoing case management.Instead, you will own attorney level consultations and play a strategic role in shaping how intake operates across the firm. This is the first time we have created this role, and that is by design. You will have real influence and ownership in building the intake systems, processes, and standards that support long term firm growth. Over time, this role may expand to include leadership of the intake function and team as the firm evolves.A More Intentional Intake ModelOur consultations are paid and prospective clients are vetted by our intake team before they ever speak with an attorney. This ensures that you are spending your time on thoughtful, productive conversations with clients who are serious, appropriate, and prepared for an attorney level discussion. You will work closely with the intake team, not just as a consult attorney, but as a leader and resource. This includes helping refine vetting criteria, consult readiness, escalation standards, and overall quality control across the intake process. The RoleFamily law is deeply personal. Prospective clients are often navigating divorce, custody disputes, or major transitions involving their children and families. As the Intake Attorney, you will guide clients through emotionally charged conversations with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.Your role is to help clients feel heard and supported while also exercising sound legal judgment, setting realistic expectations, and determining whether a matter is a strong fit for the firm. This role is about stewardship, judgment, and system building as much as it is about client conversations.
