DRAFTSPERSON Department: Digital Fabrication Reports To: VP of Digital Fabrication Location: Compton, CaliforniaReporting to the Digital Fabrication Manager, the Draftsperson will work with the Digital Fabrication Manager, Fabrication Manager + Director, and Project Managers as the conduit between Design and Fabrication by producing effective technical drawings for in-shop fabrication. The Draftsperson will also produce files for the operation of the CNC machine and work to mentor and help guide all Freelance + Associate Draftspersons.  The Draftsperson will work under the guidance and advisement of the Drafting Manager and Director of Fabrication.Essential Responsibilities:Category 1Assist Digital Fabrication Manager and work in tandem with Director of Fabrication, Project Managers, and Design team throughout all awarded projectsAttend weekly departmental workflow meetings Attend project Pass-Off and Kick-Off meetings with senior staff membersSchedule fabrication meetings with Director of Fabrication, Drafting Manager, Fabrication Manager, and Project Manager for all assigned projectsProduce effective technical decks for in-shop and vendor fabricationMaintain and organize shared files according to departmental guidelinesDeliver shop drawings, and all other specific materials within pre-established timelinesSupport Project and Department Leads including Carpentry, Paint, Metal, and LX in the fabrication process throughout the entire build timelineProduce files for the operation of the CNC machineAssist in the creation of ground plans and install guidelines as neededWork within build list and production schedule as defined by the client and Pink Sparrow leadership Support Digital Fabrication Manager in mentorship and guidance of all Associate + Freelance Draftsman in departmental guidelines and objectivesSupport overall departmental objectives as set by Drafting Manager and Leadership TeamSupport overall business goals, as set by the companySource materials, finishes, and hardware as defined by the scope of an awarded projectAssist in any print production needs as outlined within the scope of an awarded projectAssist in creating and updating standardized templates for internal and external useParticipate and contribute to departmental and company culture objectivesCategory 2Additional Responsibilities:Qualifications: Required:Working knowledge of AutoCad, SketchUp, Rhino 3D, and Adobe Creative SuiteWorking experience with various materials and fabrication techniques (wood, metal/welding, hardware, plastics, laminates, fabrics/textiles)Professional experience working in both 3D and 2D drawingsAbility to think creatively and quickly about a variety of challenges within the design and fabrication scopeExperience creating vector drawings consistent w/ CNC machine operation Shop drawing experience (furniture, scenic fab, theater, etc.)Must be able to provide written reports and feedbackMust be organized, detail oriented, and team drivenMust be flexible and adaptable to constant changeExcellent written and oral communication skills Preferred:Education & Experience:
