Join us!Job Summary and Qualifications* This is a Full Time Day shift position, 7:00am - 7:00pm, with rotating weekends *The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.What you will do in this role:Use therapeutic communication in daily practiceMaintain a safe and therapeutic Progressive Care environmentImplement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Progressive Care patientsEvaluate the effectiveness of the nursing processProvide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health careDelegate tasks to the appropriate caregiverParticipate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvementPromote a supportive Progressive Care environmentProvide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externsMaintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned • Support the mission, vision and values of the organizationWhat qualifications you will need:Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursingAssociates Degree okay to start, must obtain BSN within 24 months of hire into RN positionCurrent RN license in the State of TX or compact licenseCurrent BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red CrossCurrent ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red CrossAcute care experience required within the last 5 years, preferably a minimum of 1 year previous experienceExperience with cardiovascular/telemetry patients, preferredBenefitsMedical City Heart & Spine Hospitals, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
