Sr. Full Stack Java Developer

Sr. Full Stack Java Developer Location: Expected to be local or willing to relocate to Pittsburgh only. Contract: W2 only, 6-12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI. Pay: $60/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match Overview Perform design tasks and develop components of application and technical architecture. Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives. Oversee and provide consultation on common issues and best practices to the development team. May assist with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Execute tests for the application or technical architecture components, work with other programmers, designers, and architects to meet application requirements and performance goals, participate in code reviews, inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project, fix any defects and performance problems discovered in testing, document the application to facilitate maintenance. Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered. Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes. Key Responsibilities Perform design tasks and develop components of application and technical architecture Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives Oversee and provide consultation on common issues and best practices to the development team May assist with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions Execute tests for the application or technical architecture components, work with other programmers, designers, and architects to meet application requirements and performance goals Participate in code reviews, inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project Fix any defects and performance problems discovered in testing, document the application to facilitate maintenance Provide a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolve any functional problems encountered Ensure quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes Required Skills 10+ years of hands-on full stack development experience Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+) Hands-on experience with Angular (TypeScript, HTML, CSS) Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Design patterns (Factory, Singleton, DAO, etc.), & Exception handling, multithreading, and collections Experience with Microservices architecture is strongly preferred Experience building scalable, maintainable backend services Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs Hands-on with Spring Boot / Spring MVC API design best practices: HTTP methods, status codes, Request/response validation, Versioning strategies Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger / OpenAPI) API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC) ORM frameworks such as Hibernate / JPA Strong hands-on experience with SQL Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Teradata DevOps experience with Maven / Gradle Version control using Git/bitbucket CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, udeploy etc.) Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix environments Experience deploying applications on application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, etc.) & containers (Docker – preferred) Ability to write and optimize complex joins, subqueries, stored procedures (nice to have) Dependency Injection and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-starter, independent worker able to see through to completion Required Education No Education Requirements Preferred Skills Experience deploying applications on application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, etc.) & containers (Docker – preferred) Ability to write and optimize complex joins, subqueries, stored procedures (nice to have) Dependency Injection and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) Why Should I Apply?
