As an architect of our proposals, this responsibility involves development, design, evaluation, and modification of system solutions and architecture to meet customer requirements. In addition, this engineer has to be knowledgeable about all stages of the project implementation - starting from scope definition until the final close-out.The team concentrates on the following mission-critical communications technologies at various levels of complexity:Public Safety grade mobile/portable voice and data networks, Advanced Mobile devices, Public Safety mobile broadband networks and devices (LTE), Integrated Command and Control, 9-1-1 Dispatch Consoles, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Intelligence Led Public Safety, Real time video, and data analytics.ResponsibilitiesDefining directions and requirements to ensure timely implementation of a quality technical solutionProviding engineering services to our customers as a trusted advisorHosting system-level technical presentations for internal/external customersPreparing system bids, taking into account the customer's needs and the equipment availableOperating with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer's delivery requirementsBeing very knowledgeable on LMR and Ecosystem product solutions and integrationMentor junior and new Presales EngineersRadio Coverage design and analysisWork closely with the Sales Team to deliver customer driven, world class, leading edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government (State & Local) agenciesEnd-to-end solution design adhering to requested due datesEquipment list generation for LMR and Ecosystem solutionsDescription of system design, including diagrams and Calculation of power and IP networking requirementsParticipation in proposal reviews and contract negotiationsConsultative guidance to customers and sales teamCoordinate with the various functional teams (Systems Integration, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed in our proposals and win-strategiesDevelopment of the implementation approach and service plan necessary to win the projectMeet/exceed customer requirements and provide value alternatives when requirements cannot be metDrive all sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completion, managing the schedules of each project team member (engineering, proposal specialist, sales, and service)QualificationsBachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions Architecture4+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions ArchitectureStrong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) highly desirableStrong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security highly desirableKnowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an assetLocation/Travel:Must be willing to travel up to 25-30% of the timeTarget Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 USDConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
