Assistant Manager – Logistics

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Logistics Company: Aisin World Corp of America Department: Logistics Department Location: Franklin, IN (FLC) Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Overseeing receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. Implementing operational policies and procedures. Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment. Ensuring safety of staff. Motivating and disciplining staff. Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities. Maintaining awareness and knowledge of condition and location product and inventory. Assisting with deliveries where required. Direct line to OEM customers concerning orders, delivery, and forecasting. 5+ years warehouse management experience. Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures. Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls. Valid drivers' license. Ability to operate forklift effectively. Proficient computer skills. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills. Strong people skills. Available to work extended hours. Beneficial Skills and Experience Warehouse Automation and Information Technology Working in a Multi-Cultural Operation Working with Automotive OEM Packaging design and procurement Education/Training/Certifications Knowledge of Quality Systems and Reporting TPS/Six Sigma Training or Education Requirements: Work Environment Requirements Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment. Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits). Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged. Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality. Must be able to operate as an effective team member. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies. Attendance/Work Hour Requirements Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs. Travel Requirements Approximately 10 % Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
