iOS EngineerLocation: San Francisco, CAWork Arrangement: In-Person / OnsiteExperience: 2-5 YearsCompensation: $170,000-$230,000 per yearWork Authorization: H-1B, OPTAbout the RoleWe are seeking a talented iOS Engineer to build and enhance the companion mobile application that serves as the primary interface.This is a highly impactful role involving BLE and Wi-Fi connectivity, real-time device experiences, firmware updates, AI-powered features, and native iOS development. Because the application directly interacts with physical hardware, you will work closely with hardware, firmware, backend, and ML teams.You will own features end-to-end-from architecture and implementation through testing and App Store release-and will have significant autonomy within a small, fast-moving engineering team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop BLE and Wi-Fi pairing and connectivity flows, including reconnection and background connectivity.Build reliable mechanisms for delivering firmware updates through the iOS application.Develop low-latency, responsive UI experiences that reflect live device state and streaming data.Integrate on-device and cloud-based AI capabilities into the companion application.Design application architecture for device state management, synchronization, offline functionality, and degraded connectivity.Implement and optimize native iOS capabilities, including:Background modesPush notificationsBluetooth permissionsBattery efficiencyApplication performanceOwn features through the complete development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and App Store release.Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, backend, and machine learning teams.Operate independently and effectively within a small engineering organization.Required QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Swift and SwiftUI/UIKit building and shipping production iOS applications.Experience with Core Bluetooth (BLE) and/or real-time data streaming.Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end, from architecture through App Store release.Experience collaborating with hardware, firmware, backend, and/or ML engineering teams.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small-team environment.Proven experience developing and maintaining production-quality iOS applications.Preferred QualificationsExperience building hardware-connected companion applications.Experience with IoT devices, wearables, or other connected hardware products.Experience working at a startup or growth-stage company.Experience working in small, highly autonomous engineering teams.Personal projects, side builds, or open-source contributions demonstrating strong iOS development skills.Why This RoleThis is an opportunity to work at the intersection of mobile engineering, connected hardware, real-time systems, and AI.
