Plant Systems IT Technician
What You Will DoThe Plant IT Technician is responsible for installing and supporting the IT hardware, software, and network infrastructure at the Oconee (West Union, SC) manufacturing facility. The position is primarily based in West Union, SC but may require occasional travel to support remote sites. The Plant IT Technician reports directly to the USCAN Plant Systems East Team Lead with a dotted line relationship to the local plant management teams.How You Will Do ItTriage IT hardware, software, and network issues in an office and on the manufacturing plant floorManage SLAs and resolve incidents in ServiceNowAct as a liaison between the ServiceDesk and/or application teams as neededConfigure and deploy IT hardware equipment in an office environment, such as printers, conferencing systems, etc. while following hardware and software standardsConfigure and deploy IT equipment on the plant floor, such as Zebras, Satōs, PCs, thin clients, scan guns, radio frequency (RF) devices, and payroll clocksWear plant personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the plant floor and follow safety equipment programs according to company standardsFacilitate the full PCLM processMaintain security, appearance, and organization of the server roomBe the on-site contact for service providers if neededPrimary interface of communication to Plant Management regarding WAN/LAN outages for infrastructure maintenance and planned hardware / software deploymentsPartner across local departments—Engineering, HR, Maintenance—to advise on deployments and execute projectsEngage with the USCAN Plant Systems Team to execute projects across the regionMake recommendations to the USCAN Plant Systems Team when IT hardware and/or software upgrades are required and assist with quotes for procurement through approved vendorsEnsure new IT hardware serial numbers are recorded and included under existing maintenance contractsRegularly spend portions of the day on the plant floor and occasionally lift parcels up to 40 poundsTravel may be required (approximately 10%)What We Look ForRecommendedBachelor’s Degree preferred, plus at least 1 year of professional IT Technical support experienceIn lieu of a bachelor's degree, will consider a 2-year degree and at least 2 years of experience OR 4 years of equivalent experience in combination of education and experienceOther desirable certifications include Network+, Security+, MCSE, CCNA, A+Solid understanding of PCs including software installation, reimaging, Intune AD, AzureExperience configuring / troubleshooting issues / and deploying IT hardware, such as printers, PCs, thin clients, scan guns, and/or radio frequency (RF) devices requiredUnderstanding of networks and administration with knowledge of Access Points, Switches, VOIP, TCPIP, DHCP, DNSExperience with inventory, asset management, and CMDB is a plusSolid analytical and critical thinking skills with strong written and verbal communications skillsDemonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solvingSelf-motivated, consistently seeking out new challenges and opportunities for growth.
