Production Manager - Commercial Grounds Maintenance

Job PurposeThe Production Manager is a hands-on position managing field supervisors and crews performing commercial landscape maintenance services. The main focus of this role is to manage safety, quality, and job hours as it pertains to the contracted scope. The Production Manager will promote teamwork within the company.Management And Accounting:Responsibilities - Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide hour and material budgets for all crews as a guide for productionMonitor the integrity of information provided to accounting system (timesheets and work orders)Monitor equipment inventory and insure equipment is properly servicedKeep informed of new practices in green industryKeep informed of new or potential salesFacilities lock up.Utilize BOSS LM for scheduling and tracking job issuesCustomer Service And Sales:Maintain excellent on site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors as neededEncourage multiple sales from current clientsCommunicate daily with Account Management staff on jobsite progress and issuesAssist in identifying enhancement opportunities on jobsitesProduction:Supervise and train maintenance field supervisors and crews on all aspects of landscape maintenance servicesConduct a site inspection on each job no less than every two weeksMonitor and maintain irrigation controller including coordination of repairsReview equipment needs and maintenance schedules with Operations ManagerPerform and/or participate in crew and department general and safety meetingsInsure the safe operation of all maintenance equipmentSafely drive company owned vehiclesWork with other Production Managers to insure a consistent productWork with other managers on work schedules including seasonal work needsWork with other departments and personnel when neededHelp with snow removal in the winter monthsAbility to meet seasonal deadlines set by the Operations ManagerHorticulture:Ensure crews are equipped and informed in order to provide the safest, highest quality work in an efficient mannerPromote proper horticulture by training of field supervisors and labor.Personnel:Work closely with HR Manager to promote and enforce all Human Resource ProceduresInterview, hire, orient, and train all new hiresParticipate in intern trainingContinually provide ongoing training to field supervisors to meet company growth, needs, etc.Document absences, tardiness and other disciplinary actionsConduct Performance Reviews on field supervisors and staffEnforce company policiesRequirements:Required SkillsMinimum 2 year college degree preferredMust have valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving recordMust have NC Pesticide applicators license, or the ability to obtain oneMust have good communication skills and ability to motivate othersMust comply with Bland Landscaping’s policies and proceduresAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basisAbility to bend and stoop on a continual basisAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsAbility to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risksWear work boots, Bland Landscaping uniforms, and present yourself in a clean and professional mannerMust be able to work with minimal supervisionMust wear provided company PPEMust practice safety at all timesMust pass a criminal background check and maintain a clean criminal recordRequirements:Required ExperienceMust have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Grounds Management.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
