Corporate Materials Manager

Job DescriptionThe RCO Engineering team is looking for an organized and experienced Materials Manager to support our Manufacturing activities in Roseville, MI. The Materials Manager oversees the planning, procurement, storage, controls and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. This role provides operational leadership for Policy, Procedure & Work Instructions in a high mix production environment. A successful candidate will be self-driven leader who can take the division to the next level.Core ResponsibilitiesOwn demand forecasting (firm & planning) for both service & productionOversee current & advanced bills of materials in high configuration environmentLead materials planning, execution & production control teams (15-25 employees)Take lead role in optimizing and performing MRP (Materials Resource Planning)Oversee production control & work order release to manufacturing cells/focused factoriesGenerate, monitor and develop action for internal operating metrics involving inventoryIdentify and/or implement new technology, methods and thinkingSustain & grow metrics for a global supply baseOptimize levels of inventory across 3000+ sku numbers either purchased or manufacturedImprove and manage material flow to align with production flowBe prepared and willing to launch a new ERP systemLead negotiations on expeditesEnsure the operation is never out of material and the material on hand is justifiedA positive can-do attitude to support RCO Engineering leadership as necessary to meet and exceed customer expectations. RequirementsBachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 10 years in a materials management role inside a manufacturing operation. Minimum of 5 years experience with an MRP/ERP software solution. Must have high level of organization, data & planning skills.
