Mechanical Engineer

DescriptionPosition Summary:Design and provide mechanical development support. Analyze first article mechanical samples, develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings, and assist the engineering and quality department with data collection and root cause analysis from reported issues. The applicant may be involved with daily manufacturing and mechanical engineering support activities that will enhance their understating of the manufacturing and engineering processes.Duties and Responsibilities:Helps capture end-user and market-based requirementsArchitect and design elements of digital communications systems involving portable, mobile, and base station equipment and accessoriesWork closely with the hardware team to provide design feedback based on circuit requirements and user requirementsGenerate detailed drawings and final documentation packages in CAD, verify design integrity using tolerance studies and execute engineering notices by updating drawing revision levels as required for product releasesBe able to generate and understand mechanical Bill-of-Material structuresWork closely with manufacturing to solve mechanical related assembly problemsAll duties as assigned by SupervisorRequirementsKnowledge & Skills:Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point requiredProficient with parametric design software (Solid Works preferred)Proficient with AutoCAD Release 14 or later versionsPerform inspections of first article samples of new parts and assemblies within the callouts of the inspection drawingAbility to operate equipment to measure and calibrate parts and use machine shop equipmentSolid knowledge in parametric designExceptional verbal and written English communication skillsGood analytical skillsVery detail-oriented, accurate and organizedAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAble to work independently and as part of a teamConfidentiality and time managementQualifications:Education: Enrolled or already possess degree in Mechanical EngineeringRequires understanding of basic Engineering concepts including materials, fabrication methods, components and development softwareBe familiar with CAD modeling concept and terminologyWorking Conditions & Physical Demands:Work typically takes place in a normal office environment requiring sitting, walking, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing and seeingOperate a PC and other office equipmentMust be able to lift up to 10 poundsMust be able to handle/use metal working machines and small hand toolsTravel between floors and office buildings may be requiredEnvironmental conditions: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicalsBK Technologies Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
