LTE RF Optimization Engineer-Different Levels

Job Title LTE RF Optimization Engineer (Contract) Location Naperville, IL; Murray Hill, NJ; Dallas, TX; Herndon, VA; and others Responsibilities Support RF deployments with US‑based cellular operators. Develop and execute LTE/VoLTE optimization, performance management, and troubleshooting tasks. Analyze KPI reports, identify performance degradation issues, and provide solutions. Perform trend analysis, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting for LTE, UMTS, GSM, CDMA, and EV‑DO networks. Configure and manage parameters using OSS tools such as NetAct, NPO, SAM, PNM, ALU NPO, NetAct RS. Run traces, drive tests, and analyze data using tools like JDSU/RAN Advisor, Nemo, TEMS, X‑cal, Windcatcher, FalconSmart. Execute site‑alarm monitoring, health checks, and alarm resolution. Reset eNB/RRH, change parameters, update yang files, and run work orders. Assist with RF design (link budget inputs, propagation models) and performance tools such as PLANET and ATOLL. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in RF Optimization for LTE and/or wireless technologies. At least 3 years recent hands‑on experience with any vendor's LTE and/or VoLTE network optimization. Knowledge of LTE/VoLTE technology, network architecture, 3GPP standards, and 3G eCSFB issues. Experience with LTE parameters, KPI counters, OPI counters, power management, carrier aggregation. Proficiency with performance management tools (PNM, ALU NPO, NetAct RS) and counter‑based analysis. Desirable: experience with NetAct OSS, Alcatel‑Lucent SAM, ACTIX, and RF design tools. Strong teamwork, discipline, communication, documentation skills. Proficient in MS Office (Excel macros), PowerPoint, Unix. MS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related; Bachelor’s with 7+ years experience acceptable.
