Payroll Clerk

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll processing and core accounting functions, including accounts payable, tax compliance, and general ledger activities. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working across payroll and accounting in a fast-paced environment. Union payroll experience is a plus.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess multi-state payroll, including union payroll (if applicable), ensuring accuracy and complianceMaintain payroll records, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdingsSupport payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, and payment runsAssist with vendor management and resolve discrepanciesPrepare and post journal entries and support general ledger maintenanceAssist with month-end and year-end close processesPerform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedulesSupport tax compliance (payroll tax, sales/use tax, 1099s)Assist with audits and provide documentation as neededQualifications2–5+ years of experience in payroll and/or accountingStrong understanding of payroll processing and complianceExperience with AP, GL, and reconciliationsExposure to payroll and/or sales & use taxUnion payroll experience is a plusExperience with systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar preferredProficient in Excel and comfortable with financial systemsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
