This role builds integrated project plans, manages RAID, coordinates teams, and ensures delivery aligns with scope, milestones, budget, and quality. The Senior Project Manager makes risks visible early, facilitates decisions, translates business processes into requirements, and supports testing, communication, training, and adoption for sustained value. This role may mentor project managers and/or coordinators (including external/contingent resources), strengthening project delivery fundamentals across the team. This role may also be utilized in managing & improving PMO operations.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLeadershipLeadership presence & accountability: Demonstrates strong leadership presence by setting clear expectations for ownership, delivery discipline, and professional standards across assigned projects; reinforces follow-through and measurable outcomes.Calm, credible influence: Exhibits a calm and credible demeanor, clarifying complex issues, aligning stakeholders on outcomes and tradeoffs, and driving execution through ambiguity without sacrificing rigor.Ownership, transparency & urgency: Grounds delivery conversations in data (scope, schedule, cost, dependencies, and benefits), makes risks visible early, and escalates issues with clear options and recommendations to enable timely decisions.Team effectiveness & coaching: Leads & maintains high-performing, cross-functional delivery teams (including vendors/partners as applicable) through clear roles and responsibilities and demonstrating & guiding other team members through best-practice project fundamentals.Protect the company's assets and financial information: by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.Facilitation (Large/Complex Projects & Project Groups)Outcome framing & decision facilitation: Designs and facilitates working sessions for large, complex projects (and groups of related projects) with project teams and stakeholders—clarifying desired outcomes, decision points, decision rights, required inputs, and next steps to drive timely closure.Cross-workstream alignment & conflict/dependency resolution: Leads cross-functional workshops that reconcile scope, sequencing, capacity, and dependencies across teams and vendors; uses structured facilitation to surface tradeoffs, resolve conflict, remove blockers, and drive closure on escalations impacting one or more projects.Synthesis, documentation & follow-through: Synthesizes inputs into clear artifacts (assumptions, decisions, actions, risks, and dependencies), maintains disciplined action/decision logs with owners and dates, and ensures outcomes are reflected in integrated plans—escalating early when unresolved items threaten critical milestones or coordinated releases.Project ManagementIntegrated planning & dependency management: Develops and maintains integrated project plans (scope, milestones, resources, budget, communications, and adoption approach) and actively manages cross-team dependencies and sequencing to optimize time-to-value.Risk, issue, and decision management (RAID): Operates a disciplined RAID and decision/action log with clear owners and due dates; drives mitigation planning, timely resolution, and escalations with options and recommendations.Audience-specific, action-oriented status communication: Produces project reporting that translates status into actions (health, blockers, decisions needed, owners, and next steps) with budget/financial transparency appropriate to the scale of the project.Delivery methodology fluency (Agile/Hybrid/Waterfall): Tailors execution approach based on scope, risk, and team model; ensures core fundamentals are applied regardless of methodology (scope control, estimates, schedules, and quality gates).Benefits realization support: Partners with sponsors to define measurable outcomes and success metrics, tracks delivery to those outcomes through stabilization, and supports sustainment planning and post-go-live learnings.Delivery governance (fit-for-purpose controls): Applies right-sized governance for assigned projects (charter, requirements, change control, and closeout), ensuring accountability without over-bureaucratization.Process AnalysisCurrent-state discovery & future-state design: Leads cross-functional discovery to document current processes, pain points, handoffs, and system touchpoints; facilitates future-state design aligned to agreed outcomes.Process-to-technology traceability: Ensures process flows are translated into requirements, solution design, test scenarios, training materials, and operating procedures with end-to-end traceability.Operational controls & risk awareness: Partners with process owners and SMEs to identify key controls and operational risks relevant to the project; ensures required controls are considered in design, testing, and readiness.Business AnalysisValue-driven scope & requirements: Partners with sponsors and SMEs to define problem statements, success metrics, scope boundaries, and prioritized requirements that anchor delivery to business value (avoiding solution bias).Stakeholder alignment & decision enablement: Facilitates requirements and design alignment across business and technology teams; clarifies assumptions, constraints, and tradeoffs to enable timely decisions.Testing and outcomes partnership: Aligns requirements to design and testing; partners with delivery and QA teams on test approach, scenarios, and quality gates that validate business processes and expected outcomes.Option analysis support (as needed): Supports evaluation of solution/vendor options by defining evaluation criteria, facilitating demos/workshops, documenting findings, and aligning stakeholders on recommendations.Change ManagementIntegrated change workstream: Builds change readiness, communications, training, and adoption activities into the integrated plan for assigned initiatives; partners with business leaders to confirm owners, deliverables, and timing.Impact & readiness planning: Guides role- and process-based impact assessment and readiness planning (process, policy, data, and operating model impacts); ensures mitigations are planned and actively managed through execution.Go-live & stabilization support: Coordinates cutover readiness, go-live communications, and hyper care/stabilization activities; assists tracking adoption/issue trends and drives actions to reach intended outcomes (during hyper care).Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in information technology or a related field or equivalent experience.Five plus years of related experience with three or more years of experience in IT or complex business project management.PMP certification preferred.Proven ability to manage projects and achieve goals and objectives by a pre-established deadline.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other process diagramming tools), Teams/SharePoint, Project Management tools (Microsoft or others), and CopilotActive in pursuit of continuous learning in retail, business acumen, project management, and related areasRequired Skills/AbilitiesLANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted IT principles.REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
