Operator, Case Packer (Night Shift - 2:00pm-2:30am)

Employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail through many changes. This role reports to the Production Manager and is based out of our Sparta, Michigan location.Primary Responsibilities include:Maintain and clean mechanical equipment, machinery, and components, keep floor area free of bottles and cardboardConduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repairEnsure compliance to company requirements, such as codes, label placement and box forming quality, notify any deviances to supervisor and or maintenance departmentComplete all work in accordance with established safety proceduresAccountable for food safety, food quality and regulatory requirements for their positionEncouraged to notify management about actual or potential safety and mechanical issuesAdopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their positionEmpowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of workPerform other related duties as required and assignedWork with quality personnel to separate flavor changes at end of run, ensure there are no mixed cases at end or start of run.Education and ExperienceMinimum Required QualificationsThree years of mechanic experienceA high school diploma or equivalentMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be detailed oriented and can multi-taskMust have excellent time management skillsAdditional Preferred QualificationsExperience in the food/beverage industry a plusPrevious experience in Manufacturing or production environment a plusAbility to direct, coach and train others.Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsThis position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.
