Utility Maintenance

**I. Positions Reporting to This Position**None**II. Position Objective**Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.**III. Qualifications****Basic Requirements** High school diploma or equivalent Basic mechanical knowledge and experience Basic contractor and electrical skills Availability to work overtime Self-motivated with a positive attitude Strong attendance and work history Ability to follow directions and work independently Maintain a clean and safe work area Clean up after task completion**Technical Skills** Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical components (bearings, belts, pulleys, chains, sprockets, etc.) Rebuild spare parts for inventory Perform preventative maintenance and machine setup for production Run conduit and connect simple electrical circuits (receptacles, transformers, wiring, etc.) Troubleshoot and replace sensors (proximity switches, photo eyes, fiber optics) Understand and troubleshoot servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, and drives Perform welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering using appropriate equipment Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems Read and troubleshoot using OEM manuals and vendor specifications Collaborate effectively across shifts to complete repairs**Level-Specific Requirements****C Level** Understand and operate all departmental equipment Complete projects with minimal supervision**B Level** Improve recurring equipment issues and reduce downtime Install, wire, and program drives and heat controllers Pass required electrical testing Available for call-ins**A Level** Perform layout and framing work Complete finishing tasks (painting, molding) Basic knowledge of cabinetry drawing, assembly, and installation**IV. Training**Refer To Master Training Record For Additional Training Requirements.**V. Duties and Responsibilities****A. Tasks and Duties** Follow all plant and departmental safety rules, including PPE use Perform assigned maintenance tasks Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues Assist fellow technicians as needed Perform additional duties assigned by Supervisor or Foreman**B. Machinery, Tools, and Equipment** Volt/Ohm meter Clamp-on amp meter Hand tools Calculator Forklift Precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, dial indicator) Welding and cutting equipment**C. Physical and Visual Requirements****Physical Demands** Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling Standing and walking for extended periods Lifting 5--150 lbs Reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling Fine motor skills and manual dexterity Communication (speaking and hearing) Balance and coordination**Visual Requirements** Close inspection and assembly work Equipment operation and paperwork Ability to distinguish colors, depth, and detail**D. Work Environment** Indoor and outdoor work environments Exposure to extreme temperatures (below 32°F and above 100°F) High noise levels requiring raised voice communication Exposure to machinery, electrical systems, chemicals, dust, fumes, and oils Unregulated atmospheric conditions**VI. Authority / Decision Making** Responsible for troubleshooting and repair decisions within assigned scope Escalates complex issues to supervision when necessary Exercises judgment to maintain safety, quality, and productivity
