This role ensures the secure and efficient delivery of technology systems, infrastructure, and services while providing organizational decision-making and leadership. Key responsibilities include managing network and systems infrastructure, administering enterprise applications, ensuring cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, and directing the work of staff and contractors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Administers and monitors the division's budget, including allocating resources and approving expenditures.Assesses organizational technology needs and recommends innovative solutions. Evaluates emerging technologies for applicability and organizational benefits.Attends required meetings with the department director, City Manager, other city departments, other regulatory entities, public boards, and commissions; provides responsible staff assistance to executive management.Collaborates with City departments to identify technology needs and solutions. Researches and responds to inquiries.Conducts and coordinates audits, risk assessments, and ensures compliance with governmental requirements.Conducts special studies, analysis, and projects within the assigned division as requested; makes recommendations.Creates presentations with external parties and agencies; acts as a representative of the City, as necessary.Develops, recommends, and implements IT planning and technology roadmaps. Defines and communicates the IT vision, direction, and organizational changes to stakeholders.Manages relationships with external consultants, contractors, and vendors. Oversees the assignment and work of contracted staff, ensuring technology operations.
