POSITION: Elementary SecretaryEXEMPT STATUS: Non-ExemptNUMBER OF DAYS: According to district approved calendarDEPARTMENT: Assigned CampusREPORTS TO: PrincipalSUPERVISES: NoneEDUCATION:High School Diploma or GEDEXPERIENCE:Two years of prior secretarial or clerical experience.Position Function/PurposeAn Elementary Secretary shall carry out all school related activities as directed by the principal. The secretary shall facilitate the efficient running of the school office and foster good public relations.Essential Functions1. Handling any and all correspondence of the principal2. Answering and screening all phone calls of the principal and relaying messages3. Keeping a calendar of appointments for the principal4. Prepare reports for the principal as directed5. Post all announcements regarding the school schedule6. Meet and deal with parental concerns7. Directing student problems to the proper personnel8. Handle all bookkeeping responsibilities9. Order supplies for the school10. Key in necessary information on the computer11. File all materials as directed by the principal12. Collect and keep all material that deals with campus personnel13. Ensure confidentially when requestedQualification Requirements1. High School Diploma or GED2. Prior secretarial or clerical experience3. Basic computer knowledge4. Filing skills5.
