ControllerLocation: Charlotte, NC | Raleigh, NCJob Type: Full-TimeOverviewWe are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to partner closely with senior leadership and lead the accounting function for a growing organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring GAAP compliance, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting.The Controller will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting operational decision-making, and enhancing accounting processes and team capabilities, particularly in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insights and decision supportLead and develop the accounting team, including direct oversight of AP, AR, and staff accounting functionsOwn the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial statementsMaintain GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and audit readinessOversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and balance sheet integrityManage all core accounting operations, including payroll, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and capital expendituresDeliver financial reporting, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and trend analysisSupport budgeting and forecasting efforts through accurate financial data and analysisEnsure consistency in revenue recognition and cost allocation across locationsLead ERP system administration and continuous process improvementsSupport lender and board reporting, including bank covenant complianceAssess and manage tax exposure, including income tax and nexus considerationsAssist with integration of newly acquired entities and scalability of accounting processesManage credit risk considerations tied to customer accountsSupport implementation and administration of financial systems and toolsParticipate in special projects and initiatives as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting requiredCPA requiredMinimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a senior accounting or finance roleStrong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAPProven experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processesExperience with ERP systems and accounting technologySkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team development capabilitiesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communicator with the ability to partner across all levels of the organizationHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvementAbility to travel between locations as needed
