Overview & Position SummaryThis position supports the interior design process by assisting homebuyers with their design selections and ensuring choices align with product standards, budgets, and construction requirements. This role contributes to the preparation of model home selections, the maintenance of design materials, and the accuracy of documentation used throughout the design and construction process. It collaborates with cross-functional partners to resolve selection-related questions and support a smooth design experience.Primary ResponsibilitiesGuide homebuyers through the design selection process, providing information on finishes, materials, and available optionsPrepare and document design selections to ensure accuracy and alignment with operational requirementsMaintain design samples, finish libraries, and presentation materials to support buyer appointments and model selectionsAssist in developing cohesive design palettes that reflect community standards and market trendsReview design selections for completeness, accuracy, and feasibilityCoordinate with construction, purchasing, and sales teams to answer design-related questions and clarify selection detailsResolve design or documentation issues using prior experience and structured analysisSupport model home design preparation, including materials research and coordination with merchandisingProvide guidance or assistance to entry-level design or support team membersEducation & ExperienceRequiredMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience in interior design or related professional disciplines, or equivalent experienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional educationExperience supporting interior design development, documentation, or coordination activitiesExperience working within established processes and standards under moderate supervisionPreferredAdditional experience in residential or customer-facing interior design environmentsBroad knowledge of interior design workflows, systems, and toolsExperience collaborating cross-functionally within design or operational teamsSkills & CompetenciesBroad knowledge of interior design principles, materials, finishes, and residential product standardsStrong customer service and communication skills to support buyer interactionsAbility to review, interpret, and document design selections accuratelyStrong problem-solving skills using prior experience and analytical evaluationProficiency with design documentation tools and standard office softwareStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to manage multiple appointments, tasks, and deadlinesAbility to maintain organized design materials and showroom environmentsSkill in collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve design or selection issuesWorking Conditions Work is primarily performed in a design studio or office environment with occasional visits to model homes or construction sites.
