This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on an oral proficiency exam. You strive to keep current with local and national news, as well as trends in online and community spaces.Your responsibilities as the Communications Coordinator will include:Create and maintain updated narrative, photos and program statistics for donor engagement, quarterly newsletter, and social media, in partnership with the Communications Manager.Manage the Food Share’s physical brand through logo wear and both internal and external branded signage (directional and otherwise) in the Food Share building.Work with Communications Manager to maintain social media accounts, including post scheduling and message response.Provide copywriting support for social media, press releases, newsletter articles, and the website with the ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging content for various platforms and audiences.Create annual donor impact reports for Food Share program areas, including the Youth Farm, Community Gardens, Meals on Wheels, AWARE Food Bank, Iskam Mekh Mek Haws, and the Emergency Food program. Gather necessary information and photos from program staff and participants to effectively communicate and demonstrate the donors’ impact. Work with the Communications Manager to develop and create monthly stewardship communications for leadership-level donors.Create branded presentations and/or collateral to be used by Food Share staff in community presentations and meetings.Develop organizational tour materials and talking points. Lead tours as needed. Develop and maintain donor recognition communications and signage.About Marion Polk Food ShareWe are the regional food bank bringing people together to end hunger and its root causes in Marion and Polk Counties. May occasionally lift, move, and carry objects more than 30 pounds. Work is subject to varying indoors and outdoors temperatures and road and walkway surface in all seasons. May work or travel out of the local area and work outside normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends, on occasion. Work more than 40 hours per week during peak business periods may occasionally be required.The Food Share provides essential services to our neighbors in Marion and Polk counties. Proficient in Adobe Suite, Canva and video editing software. Familiar with Meta Business Suite, SmugMug, and WordPress website management.
