Lead Installation Technician

Lead Installation TechnicianThe Lead Installation Technician will operate as the job site supervisor or lead a crew or smaller team to manage and execute the physical construction of the systems that IMS deploys in a client's environment. This position reports directly to the Installation Manager, who is responsible for overseeing all field installations.Position Accountability and Expectations:Perform physical installation of hardware, infrastructure, and technology components throughout a project.Install all cabling according to federal and local electrical codes by IMS standards.Terminate any A/V and network cabling in the field by IMS standards.Install all hardware, such as electric or manual screens, displays, microphones, speakers, etc., in accordance with system drawings and complete scope of work.Create and provide organized, detailed, written site status reports to the Project Manager and Installation Manager as the project dictates or needs.Perform system commissioning of installed systems to develop punch list items for the team software engineers, including testing all A/V and control signal routes and testing all cables/connector continuity.Perform in-house rack construction, wiring, and termination, as directed, and delivery to the site to ensure proper quality controls.To oversee a team of technicians, providing guidance and direction to ensure quality workmanship and managing project timelines and resources.Mentor and provide training for junior technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.Take part in meetings for complex systems to gain a thorough understanding of the client's expectations, the scope of work, and the designed/engineered solution to meet those goals.Miscellaneous duties assigned by management based on business needs.What Will You Bring?A minimum of 5 years of commercial Audio-Visual installation experience, including low voltage experience, or AV installation management in new construction.Expert audio-visual system installation and functionDemonstrated excellence in reading and understanding audiovisual engineering drawings.Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide a team, delegate tasks, and resolve conflict.Ability to explain drawings to both experienced and inexperienced employees, contractors, and clients.Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail.Thorough knowledge and understanding of physical wiring and installation of display systems, switching, scaling, audio processing, video transmission, control, conferencing, and DSP products.Maintain client interactions, assessment of site conditions and training protocols.Ensure consistent utilization and maintain proper PPE protocol.Strong verbal and written communication skillsExceptional problem-solving skillsValid driver's license and excellent driving recordMust be able to work nights and weekends as necessary, overnight travel required.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
