Sr. Software Engineer, Components Test (Starshield)
Overview
In this role you design and build test software and infrastructure to validate spacecraft components for Starshield. You work within the Starshield Test team to ensure performance and reliability of flight components in extreme conditions, contributing to mission-critical testing ahead of flight. You will create new test systems spanning hardware and software interfaces and collaborate across disciplines to accelerate validation. This position offers the opportunity to shape testing approaches for high-assurance space hardware with real impact on national security missions. ResponsibilitiesDevelop modular, reusable test and automation software in Python and similar languages for manufacturing and engineering design verificationWrite automation software to interact with flight hardware, test equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation systemsDevelop custom automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing challenges using embedded electronics and hardwareDevelop algorithms to analyze complex test data to determine acceptance criteriaMaintain and troubleshoot existing automation infrastructure and coordinate with partner teams to identify root causes of failuresDefine and implement project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure reliable test systems are delivered to production
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in CS/engineering/math/STEM with 5+ years of software development, or 7+ years in lieu of a degreeDevelopment experience in C, C++, or Python; or full stack software development experienceStrong problem-solving abilityhigh sense of urgencyteam player with cross-functional collaborationLinux and Windows operating systemsNetworking protocols (TCP, UDP)Configuration management and version control
