Stowage and Mounting EngineerLocation: Sterling Heights, MIPay Rate: $44.63 to $51.77/hrPosition OverviewThe Stowage and Mounting Engineer will design and release mechanical components and subsystems for military ground vehicles. This role applies core mechanical engineering principles to solve complex integration challenges and supports build, test, and production activities.Areas of focus may include shock/vibration isolation systems, mounting provisions, and stowage equipment integration, with additional exposure to seating systems, battery enclosures, hydraulics, fire suppression, and driver controls.Responsibilities to AnticipateDesign and integrate mechanical components into vehicle platforms to meet performance, safety, environmental, ballistic, mine blast, and human factors requirementsPerform design, integration, and analysis of shock attenuation systems and mounting devicesApply mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles to complex welded brackets and mounting structuresSupport engineering changes through analysis, drawing markups, tolerance stacks, and source data generationWrite material requests and shop work orders; track parts and support integration reviews and fit checksSupport prototype and production vehicle builds, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and redesign effortsConduct failure analysis and implement corrective actionsPresent design concepts and program status to functional and program leadershipDirect and oversee CAD model and drawing developmentGenerate technical documentation and reportsQualifications SoughtBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering5–7+ years of relevant mechanical design experienceStrong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentalsExperience supporting prototype and/or production build activitiesExperience with root cause analysis and corrective action processesSolid modeling experience using NX and/or CreoExperience with Teamcenter; Vis Mockup a plusAbility to travel up to 10% as neededAdditional Desired ExperiencePrior experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs preferredAbility to obtain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship typically required)Comfortable working in and around military vehiclesWillingness to support occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as requiredStrong communication, organizational, and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently while contributing to integrated vehicle teamsWork EnvironmentEngineering and integration environment supporting military vehicle platformsHands-on involvement with prototype and production vehicle buildsWhy Join CPICompetitive pay aligned with defense program ratesDirect support of mission-critical military ground vehicle programsDedicated CPI recruiter and program support throughout assignmentOpportunity to work in high-visibility vehicle integration environmentsAccess to long-term cleared mechanical engineering opportunities across CPI's defense portfolioUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT:This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.NO SUBCONTRACT REQUIREMENT:No third-party applicants will be considered.
