Controller

Position OverviewThe Controller will play a key role in owning and improving the company’s accounting function, supporting financial operations, and driving process improvements across the organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & CFO, the role requires a blend of strong technical accounting expertise and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.Key Responsibilities· Take ownership of job costing and unit price billing.· Drive process improvements, automation, and system optimization using Foundation Software.· Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, and the general ledger.· Prepare and maintain general ledger entries in compliance with GAAP.· Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and financial analysis.· Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly tax filings.· Manage month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.· Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for management decision-making.· Support external audit, tax, and ESOP reporting requirements.· Ensure compliance with accounting and payroll regulations.· Maintain organized records for audits and regulatory reporting.· Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance & CFO on strategic planning and financial analysis.· Assist in rolling out additional modules within Foundation Accounting Software.· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and payroll processes.Qualifications Required· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.· 5–10 years of accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred).· Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.· Strong problem-solving and independent thinking abilities.· Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.· Experience in construction, industrial services, or project-based accounting.· Experience with Foundation Accounting Software and related platforms.· Proven ability to improve financial processes and leverage technology.Compensation & Benefits· Competitive pay based on experience.· Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, ESOP, PTO, and 401(k).· 401(k) with 6% company match.· Dental, vision, and life insurance.· On-site position.
