Job Title- Phlebotomist - FloatLocation- Bristol, CT Duration- 8 MonthsShift- Monday - Friday 5:30am-10:30am; Alternative Saturday 7am-12pm Valid DL is a requirement Job Description: The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the primary point of contact for patients seeking routine testing or critical health insights. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while strictly adhering to established policies, procedures, and safety standards.The Phlebotomist III – Float has direct patient interaction and is expected to create a professional, calm, and trusting environment by clearly explaining procedures and performing venipuncture in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.This position provides coverage across multiple locations and roles, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), Mobile Phlebotomy, Long-Term Care facilities, In-Office Phlebotomy, and house call environments, based on business needs. Daily operational tasks must be completed accurately and on time in fast-paced and high-volume settings.The Phlebotomist III – Float demonstrates leadership behaviors with a strong focus on process excellence, patient confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. This role may be assigned to work independently or direct daily activities at a site and must be capable of stepping in to lead one or more Patient Service Representatives (PSRs).Additional responsibilities include serving as a coach, mentor, and trainer for new employees, supporting onboarding for new clients, acting as a resource advisor, and functioning as the primary on-site point of contact. The role provides regular feedback and operational input to the group lead or supervisor.The Phlebotomist III – Float may support high-complexity and high-volume practices that require advanced phlebotomy skills and exceptional customer service.This includes strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Laboratory Services, IT Connectivity, Billing, and Logistics to support specialized or complex test orders.This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.Additional duties include urine drug screening. Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentMedical training preferred (Medical Assistant or Paramedic)Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington) Required ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collectionsAt least 3 years of experience in a PSC or IOP environment preferredCustomer service experience in a retail or service environment preferredProficiency in keyboarding and data entry Phlebotomist, Phlebotomy, Phlebotomist Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Mobile Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, Technician, Certified Phlebotomy Technician #PB03
