This role supports the VA Medical Disability Examination (MDE) contract awarded by the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and is critical to ensuring inspection quality, regulatory compliance, contractual adherence, and Veteran-centered outcomes.The Manager serves as the primary operational leader for inspection activities, ensuring consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism while meeting federal contract requirements and service-level agreements (SLAs). This role works closely with internal stakeholders, field staff, subcontractors, and government counterparts.Duties and FunctionsTeam Leadership & People ManagementDirectly manage, coach, and develop a nationwide team of ADA/OSHA facility inspectors and support team membersOversee training, performance management, and retention of inspection staffEstablish clear performance metrics, inspection standards, and accountability expectationsConduct regular team meetings, field reviews, and one-on-one check-insFoster a culture of compliance, quality, safety, integrity, and respect for VeteransInspection Operations ManagementPlan, coordinate, and oversee inspection schedules across multiple states and time zonesEnsure inspection coverage aligns with contract requirements, geographic demand, and service timelinesMonitor field execution to ensure inspections are performed accurately, consistently, and professionallyAddress operational challenges including inspector availability, travel logistics, and competing prioritiesEscalate and resolve inspection issues, deficiencies, or risks in a timely mannerADA and OSHA Compliance OversightEnsure all inspections meet applicable ADA accessibility standards, OSHA safety regulations, and VA-specific requirementsMaintain expertise in evolving ADA, OSHA, and federal facility compliance standardsReview inspection reports for completeness, regulatory accuracy, and qualityProvide technical guidance to inspectors on complex or ambiguous compliance findingsCollaborate with compliance, legal, and quality teams to address regulatory interpretationsContract Compliance & Government CoordinationEnsure all activities align with the terms and conditions of the VBA MDE federal contractSupport audits, reviews, and inquiries from government stakeholders and internal compliance teamsAssist with contract reporting, performance metrics, and documentation requirementsServe as an operational point of contact for inspection-related matters tied to the contractSupport continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed contract performance metricsQuality Assurance & Continuous ImprovementDevelop and maintain standardized inspection procedures, checklists, and reporting protocols in coordination with contract requirementsConduct quality assurance reviews and field audits of inspection resultsIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvementImplement corrective actions and process improvements as neededLeverage data and metrics to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistencyTraining & Knowledge DevelopmentOversee ongoing training for inspectors on ADA, OSHA, VA requirements, and inspection technologiesEnsure inspectors maintain required certifications, credentials, and training documentationDevelop reference materials and best practices for field teamsSupport cross-training to build flexibility and organizational resilienceEducation and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in facilities inspections, compliance, safety, or related operational roles Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing remote or geographically dispersed teamsStrong working knowledge of ADA accessibility standards and OSHA regulations Experience supporting federal contracts, preferably within VA, VBA, or healthcare-related environments Demonstrated ability to manage operational performance, field staff, and compliance programsPreferred Requirements Experience supporting VA Medical Disability Exam (MDE) or similar federal healthcare programs ADA Accessibility Specialist, OSHA certification, CSP, CHST, or similar credentials Familiarity with government audits, QASP metrics, and federal reporting requirements Experience managing subcontractors or 1099 inspection resources Knowledge of medical facilities, clinics, or healthcare environmentsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities High attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance Ability to interpret and apply technical regulations in real-world settings Clear written and verbal communication skills Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving capabilities Proficiency with inspection software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Ability to travel nationally as required (estimated 50–75%)Work Environment/ConditionLocated in Orlando Florida out of the corporate office with frequent collaboration across time zones.
