Substitute Caregiver

Overview We are licensed childcare home seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Caregiver to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will support the primary caregiver in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for early learners. This role is essential in fostering the development of children, and will involve working closely with students to enhance their educational experience. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible, starting with a part-time schedule which will transition into a full-time schedule based on enrollment. Responsibilities Assist the primary caregiver in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities. Provide support to students with special education needs, ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention. Actively play, sing, dance, color, paint, laugh, jump, roll on the ground, clap, wiggle, run, with children during learning activities. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement. Help manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies effectively. Supervise up to 12 children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Support individual students with personal care needs, including infant care, toddler care, and general childcare. Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning. Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student progress and all concerns. Qualifications Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or as a nanny/babysitter. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Willingness to obtain background check and be FBI fingerprinted. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
