The work is important to us, and so are the people doing it.The RoleAs Division Manager, you will have full ownership of the division’s operational and financial performance. You will lead a team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers across large-scale commercial projects while driving business development, client relationships, and divisional growth.What You’ll Actually DoOversee the operational and financial performance of the General Construction division across projects, typically $10 million to $100 million and aboveLead, develop, and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Project AssistantsDrive business development and client acquisition, building lasting relationships with owners, architects, developers, and industry partnersNegotiate and manage contracts, oversee bids, estimates, and budgets, and ensure the short and long-term profitability of the divisionOversee all projects from preconstruction through closeout, including long lead analysis, start-up paperwork, submittals, documentation, budget maintenance, cash flow monitoring, change order processing, punch list completion, and closeoutOversee preconstruction planning, including plan reviews, constructability reviews, subcontractor coverage, bid schedules, permit procurement, scope coverage, and staffing requirementsReview and approve subcontract scopes, change orders, Margin Analysis reports, and project buyout with the Project ManagerOversee and review project schedules and lookahead schedules with Superintendents and Project ManagersLead weekly project team meetingsConduct risk management assessments and manage issues related to safety, legal compliance, and financial stabilityAssist with staffing, recruiting, and annual performance reviews for division personnelCollaborate with the General Manager on strategic planning, market opportunities, and division growthEnsure Deacon’s Mission, Vision, procedures, and Core Values are followed consistently across the divisionWho You AreYou have 10+ years of experience in construction management with a strong background in large-scale General Construction projects, typically $10 million and aboveYou have proven experience managing a construction division or leading large, complex project teamsYou are a strong financial manager with a demonstrated track record of delivering profitable results, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlYou have a strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, standard contract language, insurance, and indemnificationYou are a leader who invests genuinely in the growth and development of the people around youClients trust you.
