Position and 2nd shift2nd shift hours 3:00 pm - 11:00 pmThe Fingerjointer Machine Operator adds value by leading Fingerjointer team to achieve quantity and quality production goals. The expectation is to take ownership of the designated work center.Duties and Responsibilities:Safety (strictly enforced). Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.Ability to pay close attention to detail.Ability to read specs and measurements.Ability to troubleshoot machinery in order to reduce downtime.Operate machine at 100 lugs per minute to achieve production standards.Learn quality aspect of product in order to reduce waste.Ability to work in a teamwork setting.Ability to read a tape measureAbility to follow instructions both verbally and writtenAbility to locate information on PLC screen and write it down with accuracy.Requirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)Prior machine operation experienceMechanical ability a plusWorkable knowledge using PLC screens (a plus)Readable handwriting (a plus)The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
