Sales Account Specialist

The Sales Account Specialist is involved in a variety of sales activities aimed to maintain strong relationships with existing customers. In this position, you will play a critical part in providing valuable support to our customers by troubleshooting customer issues, providing data and guidance to the sales team, managing sales tracking tools and analyzing sales trends. While also developing your sales skills by identifying and pursuing opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services to existing customers. The Sales Account Specialist contributes significantly to effective sales operations by assisting the sales team and maintaining positive customer relationships.Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.Contributes to customer retention by strengthening relationships through account management and maintenance.Serves customers by responding to requests, resolving complaints, and maintaining quality service.Develops and enhances business partnerships by fully engaging and building trust with the customers with a focus on long-term relationships, business retention, and growth. Manage regular cadence of customer “soft touches” to keep customers engaged with Patterson Dental.Monitors account performance indicators to ensure buying levels maintain or grow.Supports Account Executive in preparing for customer business reviews by pulling accurate data, preparing customer specific reports, and producing customer practice analysis materials when requested. Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services.Partner with Account Executive on analyzing pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors. Assist in identifying effective marketing strategies related to pricingPartner with sales team to escalate sales leads, gained through customer interactions, to Account Executives and Business Development representatives.Responsible to support Account Executives with a variety of administrative duties including master data updates, free goods administration, returns processing, new account set ups, change of ownerships, order entry etc. Additional FunctionsIn addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.Support educational events and webinars and drive attendance.Job QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major or equivalent experienceFundamental understanding of sales principles and customer service practicesAnalytical and multitasking skillsExcellent communication skillsPossesses basic business acumenAbility to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver resultsSelf-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a teamProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easilyPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related majorAt least 1 years of proven work experience as a sales support professional.
