Lead Java Developer

Role: Senior Software EngineerLocation: Remote in Mexico / LatamKey ResponsibilitiesTechnical:Take ownership of product quality and maintainability; proactively identify improvement areasAnalyze and mitigate technical risks in own work and across the teamApply strong understanding of OWASP security principlesDemonstrate user empathy and incorporate it into design and development decisionsEvaluate and propose alternative technical solutionsProcess:Adhere to SDLC practices including Agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, and release readinessCollaborate with Product and Analytics teams to define and refine requirementsImpact & Leadership:Mentor and onboard junior team membersDeliver high-quality software with minimal supervisionContribute to technical documentation, knowledge base, and engineering discussionsLead or support small to moderate projectsDebug and resolve complex issues efficientlyEnsure quality API documentation and best practicesParticipate actively in system design discussionsPerform advanced refactoring and expanded code reviewsCommunication:Provide constructive feedback to team membersLearn and apply business and domain knowledge effectivelyCommunicate blockers proactively and update estimations when neededRequired Skills & Experience6+ years of software development experience (lead experience preferred)Strong understanding of OOP principles and design patternsExperience with RESTful APIs and API securityProficiency in at least one object-oriented programming languageHands-on experience with AWSStrong knowledge of Java
