Infrastructure Project Manager with K-12 Education project experience and PMP or PMI-ACP certification. Work Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) This is a full-time Hybrid Role (9:00 am to 5:00 pm, M-F, CST). The candidate should expect to be periodically ON SITE at the CLIENT Office, Chicago, IL., and may be required to attend meetings/events as deemed necessary. Duration: 6+ months Client: Education (K-12) This position resides in the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) of the Information and Technology Services (ITS) department of the CLIENT. This position will work closely with CLIENT Technology Infrastructure teams. The Senior Project Manager will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: Supporting business and project management staff Collaborate with teams to define project scopes, initiating and managing large, complex technology projects Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements Capture requirements and tasks for multiple projects. Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve Initiating and managing multiple projects in parallel and with multiple dependencies Producing project reports and performance metrics Communicating with the Portfolio Management Office manager and ITS management regarding the status of a portfolio of projects Conduct monthly risk assessments to Identify and manage project risks Using influence to eliminate bottlenecks and potential resource alignment problems Managing projects and projects within standard project management methodologies to time, quality, and budget. Create and articulate executive-level communication on a project or program level. Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities Managing through all stages of the project life cycle Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Managing stakeholders and stakeholder expectations. Providing excellent service to clients (internal and external to ITS) Effectively managing vendor relationships in accordance with CLIENT and ITS strategies and directives Develop and maintain processes and procedures for ongoing management of the infrastructure systems. Direct the creation and maintenance of the required documentation and artifacts. As well as facilitate the defining / revising of operational processes. Providing project status and other deliverables at each stage of a defined project Demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and support the PMO and ITS peers and leadership Planning, directing, and implementing complex projects on time, within budget and with desired functionality Ability to work across multiple departments and negotiate differing priorities Performing related duties as required In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Senior Project Manager must possess the following qualifications: Type of Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university PMP or PMI-ACP Certification Type of Experience and Number of Years: Minimum seven (7) years of related experience required At least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in Project Management, preferred At least five (5) years of experience in Information Technology, preferred Experience in Education (K-12) project work, preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with IT Infrastructure projects such as Server implementations Information Security implementations Network infrastructure implementations Telecommunication implementations Proficient in Project Management practices, principles, and tools CI/CD, DevSecOps, PMP or Agile methodology and experience. The successful candidate must also have broad knowledge of current information technology systems, infrastructures, and technologies. Knowledgeable about organization and process structures Knowledgeable about Business Analysis, Organizational Change Management, Technical Architecture Proficient in Google Suite office products is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to apply process standards Self-motivated/willing to take initiative Proven ability to build positive working relationships within own team and other areas of business Ability to effectively communicate with customers, project, and functional management to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions Ability to work as a Senior Project Manager on multiple simultaneous projects Ability to work independently towards established goals Ability to work with all levels of the organization Proven track record of leading large complex implementation projects Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and influencing skill Job Type: Contract Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Application Question(s): Do you have experience in K-12 Education projects??
