Job Title: Occupational TherapistSupervisor: Executive Director for Special ServicesFSLA: Non-ExemptTerms of Employment: 190Job Summary:To provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities who are eligible for the services.Qualifications:State License (SC) and National Boards License (NBCOT)Prior experience in pediatric or school-based setting preferredEssential Duties:Consults with teachers, other appropriate staff, medical personnel, and parents to assess student's needs and to recommend materials, equipment techniques, accommodations, and modifications for students who qualifyConducts initial evaluations to determine need for services to meet special education/504 requirementsDevelops Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for occupational therapy to enable students to benefit from their educational programsAttend IEP/504 committee meetings as neededProgress monitor goals and objectivesProvide occupational therapy services to eligible studentsMaintains daily log documentation of therapy for individual studentsSubmits Medicaid documentation for reimbursementParticipates in and maintains training required to conduct assistive technology evaluationsServes as a member of the District assistive technology team and assists with scheduling evaluations, consultation sessions, and committee meetings to review evaluation resultsTrains staff in appropriate use of techniques, materials, and equipment for individual studentsAttends professionally related activities to maintain current knowledge in the field of occupational therapy and educational servicesSupervises Occupational Therapy Assistant as required through licensing rulesSupervisor may assign other dutiesPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
