Equipment Operator - MK Concrete Construction

A third-generation family-owned company, Morgan-Keller has a strong belief in giving back to the community that has given the company so much during its long history.We are looking for an adaptable, driven Equipment Operator who desires to be part of a dynamic team with company values centered around teamwork, ownership, and professionalism.General ResponsibilitiesResponsible for adhering to and supporting all MK safety policies and practices; performing a variety of duties to operate and maintain construction equipment utilized to complete concrete construction projects; assisting other trade and craft team members and supervisory personnel; properly documenting and maintaining logs and records; communicating and collaborating with other team members, owners, suppliers or other subcontractors; supporting and adhering to all company operating and regulatory compliance-focused policies and practices.Essential DutiesCooperate with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of the company's commitment to a safe working environment.Performs a variety of duties relating to the safe, effective and productive operations and maintenance of construction equipment utilized in MKC concrete construction projectsOperates and maintains various types of equipment including, but limited to, the following:BackhoeTruckSki LoaderMini ExTrack Hoe and Track LoaderLaserSnow plow, broom and bladeAssists other team members with various job-related tasks when not operating equipment; reads construction plans and performs a variety of skilled construction and maintenance tasks, as directed.Actively supports communications and relationship building activities with owners, suppliers, General Contractor, other subcontractors, etc.; assists in building trust and confidence by exhibiting professional, competent and friendly image.Proactively, professionally and with a team-focused attitude collaborates and communicates with construction site teams, management and supervisory personnel and team members throughout the company to integrate activities and achieve goals.Complies with established company operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the adherence to outside regulatory requirements.Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.Responds to inquiries or requests relating to his/her particular area within given time frames and within established policy.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesIn depth understanding of Morgan-Keller, Inc. safety policies and practices, including potential occupational hazards, supporting a committed safety culture and safe working environment; basic reading, writing, and grammar skills; basic mathematical skills and analytical skills sufficient to read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals; proficient skills in operating and maintaining construction power equipment and performing various skilled construction tasks; collaborative and generative attitudes and abilities toward working as part of a team, but also work independent of direct supervision; visual and auditory skills; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the job site; knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules pertaining to construction equipment operations.Education/ExperienceA High School Diploma or GED; specialized training in construction equipment operations and maintenance; must possess a valid MD Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) of the appropriate classA minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in construction equipment operations and equipment maintenance positions.
