Teacher Assistant Floater

DescriptionProvide classroom coverage and support to the early learning classrooms at Carroll Children's Center and Growing Hope Child & Family Development Center. The role of the Teacher Assistant Floater is to be available on a part time basis to cover for classroom shifts that vary between the hours of 7:00am-5:45pm. The Teacher Assistant Floater supports the classroom team with implementing a developmentally appropriate classroom that supports children's language, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities:Under the direction of the assigned Lead Teacher, create and maintain a safe and healthy environmentReport needed repairs and maintenance to assigned classroom staff. Provide a safe, developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environmentApply health standards and care for the children and classroomUnder the direction of the assigned Lead Teacher, support with planning & provide curriculum through normal care giving routinesEstablish a learning environment to build and enhance each child's self-esteem and positive self-conceptProvide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, creativity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the developmental level and learning style of each childImplement positive guidance practices that teach and meet the individual temperaments of each child.Maintain open, friendly and cooperative verbal and written communication with each child's familyUnder the direction of the assigned Lead Teacher, foster positive guidance, engagement and communication in the classroomGuide and sustain positive interactions between children and adults.Maintain an atmosphere that encourages open communication with children and adults. Provide opportunities and support for children to understand, acquire, and use verbal and non-verbal means of communicating thoughts and feelings.Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staffContinuing professional developmentParticipate in required training requirements according to licensing standards. Participate in scheduled supervision, required meetings and trainingParticipate in Center activities and other duties as requestedQualificationsJob Requirements:The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position.
