Sr. Financial Analyst, Corporate Financial Planning ($97,900.00 - $126,800.00)

Position Summary:The Strategic Planning & Analysis group (“SP&A”) is responsible for Irvine Company’s enterprise-level financial planning, analysis, macroeconomic research, and competitive benchmarking. Within the SP&A group, the Corporate Financial Planning team coordinates the budgeting and forecasting process for all of the Company’s business lines, and is also responsible for executive and board reporting, enterprise-level analytics (cash, capital allocation, financial ratios, scenario analyses, etc.), and business intelligence initiatives.Key Responsibilities:The Senior Financial Analyst of Corporate Financial Planning will oversee and assist with the following responsibilities:Prepare quarterly presentation and review materials for the Company’s Board of DirectorsComplete enterprise-wide annual business plans, quarterly forecasts, exhibits and analyses to accompany business plans and forecasts, monthly financial reporting, variance analyses, and special / ad-hoc projectsCreate enterprise-level financial models, projections, and executive reports including weekly cash and liquidity forecast, financial ratio analysis, downside analysis, and other sensitivity / scenario analysesCoordinate and collaborate with the Company’s real estate divisions (Apartments, Office, Retail, Community Development, etc.) and corporate support groups (Accounting, Tax, Legal, etc.)Perform independent analysis that identifies actionable insights for the senior management teamAcquire and share financial expertise and business acumen from across the Company’s real estate sectorsAssist with improvement initiatives (best practices, software implementation, business intelligence, etc.)Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:Strong Academic Background. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field. Coursework in financial statement preparation & analysis and data analytics a plus.Proven Analytic Capabilities. Minimum two years of experience within corporate finance, financial accounting, investment banking, consulting, or commercial real estate. Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting, and corporate finance concepts required. Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and data modeling skills; knowledge of database structures a plus.Superior Communication Skills. This position will be expected to interact in a professional environment with individuals at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to develop credibility across the Company through both quality of work product and interpersonal interaction.Self-Motivated Work Style.
