Job DescriptionJOB SCOPE:The Hardlines Merchandiser is responsible for visual merchandising and presentation standards throughout all hardlines departments.JOB SUMMARY:The Hardlines Merchandiser plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and crafting captivating feature displays to optimize revenue. Leveraging visual merchandising techniques, they stimulate sales and uphold unit integrity and pricing accuracy to minimize wastage. Their responsibilities also include efficient ordering to capitalize on sales opportunities and providing training and guidance to team members.Responsibilities/Skills/Experience RequirementsJOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Engages customers with a welcoming, and assisting approach; takes the customer to the merchandise and handles customer needs while escalating issues to management when necessaryMaintains and replenishes promotional programs and advertisementsSupports the Reset team in completing departmental resetsCreates end cap and drive aisle display and ensures proper signage and presentationAssists in adhering to pricing, signage, and display guidelines established by the companyExecutes departmental upkeep including cleaning, maintenance of displays, planogram accuracy, and handling expired products according to proceduresProcesses inbound freight, excess merchandise, and displays according to company standardsUnderstands product assortments, store layout, services, merchandise locations, marketing events and promotionsDemonstrates effective suggestive selling techniques and encourages the use of SYWR (Shop Your Way Rewards), credit cards, Smart Plans, and Replacement PlansOperates equipment safely and adheres to company safety protocolsPerforms other duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:16 years of age or olderREQUIRED SKILLS:Strong reading, writing, verbal, and arithmetic skillsAbility to lift and move merchandise, typically a minimum of 20lbs., but could be as much as 100lbsAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructionsRepetitive bending, lifting, stretching and reachingPositive and friendly demeanorAbility to be cross trained
