*Job Description *
The Assembler is responsible for assembling and testing products, and for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
\* Assemble components of all Product Lines. Select correct tools and fixtures.
\* Test assembled products. Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with the assembly and testing of products.
\* Ensure ability to: read blueprints; identify components; use pertinent hand tools and rework techniques; operate equipment, dimensioning and setting tolerances of mechanical parts and assemblies.
\* Create labor records for all transactions.
\* Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement.
*Responsibilities:*
* Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.
* Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
* Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid and electrical measurement equipment assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications and written procedures
* Perform precision seam welding work for long periods of time seated at machine
* Interface with production leads, supervisors, manager and QA inspection to ensure timely customer delivery
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
* Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, weld controllers, gauges, etc.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
* Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 6S and Lean initiatives
* Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success
*Qualifications:*
* High School diploma or GED
* 3-5 years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
* Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
* Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
* Basic mathematics skills such as calculating spring rates
* Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical or electrical components
* Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
* Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items up to 44 lbs.
* Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
*Desired*
* Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
* Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
* Experience with resistance seam welding, precision TIG welding, spot welding machines
* Experience reading WPS (weld procedure specification) and PQR (performance qualification record)
* Experience with helium leak verification of welds
*Schedule*
* M-F, 05:00 – 13:30 with overtime and weekend hours as needed
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
